The payments field is a male-dominated, complex industry; however, women have and continue to break barriers. Since the COVID-19 pandemic, the payment, finance, and technology industries have been ever-evolving with new concepts like Tap to Pay, advanced mobile wallets, and other contactless payments. Roles and expectations have completely changed over the past few years. Simple tasks like having team meetings became challenging as companies began allowing employees to work from home. This required leaders to get extra creative in order to work seamlessly across different time zones and navigate various struggles. As the payment industry continues to evolve, women are increasingly entering payment and tech professions, creating stronger and more diverse teams!
As female role models arise in payments, we hope more women will consider joining the industry. Diversity cultivates stronger teams, allowing for different ideas, skills, experiences, and perspectives to enter the conversation, which is why we need a balanced playing field.
